An extra special tasting of exquisite Port Wines
this Saturday - Nov 7th.

to assist with Matteo's Birthday
Rick Hetzel from Wine Trends will be on hand
to discuss these wonderful wines
"Graham’s…the most consistent producer of great Port in the post World War II era…"
Robert Parker, Wine Advocate, 1986
Graham’s wines come primarily from its own Quinta dos Malvedos, Quinta do Tua and Quinta das Lages in the Rio Torto. Two others, privately owned by a member of the Symington family, Quinta da Vila Velha and Quinta do Vale de Malhadas, also supply Graham’s with finest quality grapes. All five Quintas are among the best in the upper Douro valley. Graham’s also buys grapes from selected farmers in the finest districts. Some of these farmers have been selling their grapes to Graham’s for generations.

10-Year and 20-Year Year Tawny Ports
Graham’s Old Tawny Ports are made from wines of the very highest quality which, following careful selection, are matured in seasoned oak casks until their peak of maturity is reached. These are among the most demanding and challenging styles of Port to produce requiring great skill and years of experience from the winemaker and blender. It is essential to strike the correct balance between the delicacy and elegance which results from prolonged cask ageing while retaining the fruit quality which lends these old Tawnys their structure and longevity.

Saturday - we will taste:

Graham's Six Grapes - $23.99
a seductive, rich aroma of ripe plums, cherries and dark chocolate notes. On the palate it's complex, with an excellent structure and a long, lingering finish. Six Grapes is one of Graham's original Port blends--it is a very full-bodied, luscious wine drawn from the same vineyards as Graham's Vintage Ports. Blended from two or three years' harvests, the wine is an average of five to six years old when it is lightly filtered and bottled.

Graham's 2008 LBV Port - $23.99
Late Bottled Vintage has a deep almost opaque colour, with an intense dark red rim. On the nose, elegant aromas of red fruit and eucalyptus, combined with freshly picked mint and notes of the distinctive Douro Rockrose (Gum Cistus). On the palate, rich red fruit flavours balanced by taut, peppery tannins. There is a fine backbone of schist minerality and balanced acidity, with a long and satisfying finish.

Graham's 10 Year Tawny - $39.99
Complex nutty aromas, combined with hints of honey and figs. On the palate: Rich, mature fruit flavours; beautifully mellowed; with a luscious, long finish.

Graham's 20 Year Tawny - $69.99
Excellent bouquet; with a characteristically nutty character and delicious mature fruit; hints of orange peel; exquisitely mellowed by careful ageing. On the palate: Rich, softly sweet and smooth; perfectly balanced with a long and elegant finish.

Graham's 1994 Vintage Port - $129.99
Vinous, extremely balanced and offering scents of red licorice and raspberry fruit with a mocha note. The 1994 offers focused and concentrated fruit that stands out in a crowd. The acidity and ripe, round tannins deliver deft balance. This is going to reward patience and although easy to sip now, Graham’s ’94 will evolve at a high level for another 5 decades and should be permitted to improve in bottle. It’s a remarkable, classic Vintage Port. Score: 95+/100 (Roy Hersh, For The Love of Ports, 2011).   96 pts WA. 95 pts WS
