March 15 - A Very Special Tour of Italy

This Saturday we will do a great tasting of Italian wines featuring Matt Geisler from Vinifera Imports.

This is another mini tour of five different regions of the boot aaaaannnnnd Sicily too

Saturday - we will taste:
ICardi, Cortese ‘L’Aurora’ 2011 Piedmont – 16.99
Hints of stone fruits, flowers and ripe peach.

Paradiso, Sangiovese 2012 Emilia-Romagna  – 18.99
Aromas of ripe berries and violets. On the palate, the dark purple berry flavors and excellent tannic structure.

IPentri, Piedirosso (red grape) 2009 Campania – 32.99(91 pts Parker)
I Pentri’s 2009 Piedirosso Kerres is one of the most intriguing wines being made in Campania. It also happens to be a great value and an equally compelling introduction to the wines of this rediscovered indigenous grape.
Blackberries, black pepper, asphalt, tar, smoke and licorice burst from this racy, layered offering. Layers of perfumed fruit flow through to the generous, totally inviting finish. The Kerres captures the purest essence of Piedirosso, and it does so at an exceptionally reasonable price.

Disisa, Nero D’Avola, 2008 Sicily – 17.99
Decidedly, old-world style with warm blackberry jam flavors and earthy aromas. Smooth and balanced.

Brigaldara, Valpolicella 2011 Veneto – 18.99
Sweet red cherries, crushed flowers, licorice, tobacco and spices are woven together nicely in this refined, mid-weight Valpolicella.

All tasting wines will be $2.00 off

The open wine tasting is from 5:00 to 9:00 pm
