A chance meeting at a restaurant led to a friendship between sports commentator Jim Nantz and wine entrepreneur Peter Deutsch. Jim and Peter worked closely with winemaker Marco DiGiulio to identify the ideal vineyards
to suit their preferred wine style. Marco was the perfect partner for their venture
a world-class winemaker who has made some of California’s best wines in his tenure
at wineries such as Pine Ridge, Robert Pepi and Lokoya.

TheViberti Barolo del Comune suggests a blended vineyard wine, but it is actually a single vineyard cru wine from the Merriam vineyard in Serralunga, noted for it's big, structured barolos. The Settimo and Fenocchio barolos are blended vineyard wines featuring notes of cherries and pie fruit in the Settimo and the Fenocchio with notes of licorice and leather. In the late 1960s, Jerry Lohr began an extensive investigation of California grape growing regions – searching for the ideal location for his first vineyard. Jerry was raised on a South Dakota farm; his agricultural roots armed him with an innate sense for the relationship between climate, soil, and location. His research and instincts led him to the Central Coast, an area just beginning to explore its potential for winegrowing. In the early 1970s, Jerry Lohr first planted grapes in Monterey’s Arroyo Seco district. In the 1980s, he saw the potential for great Cabernet Sauvignon in the Paso Robles region and began vineyards there. For more than four decades, Jerry Lohr has been synonymous with pioneering innovation on the Central Coast. Even after almost fifty years of winegrowing and celebrating eighty years on the planet, Jerry Lohr is not slowing down. He continues to explore, learn, and lead in all aspects of the industry. Launching the new 2013 J. Lohr Signature Cabernet Sauvignon. Receiving Wine Enthusiast Magazine’s ‘American Wine Legend’ Wine Star Award. Being honored by Wine Business Monthly with the ‘Innovator of the Year’ Award. The accolades reflect the admiration and respect of his peers and an acknowledgment of Jerry’s place in California wine history.
