Graham’s wines come primarily from its own Quinta dos Malvedos, Quinta do Tua and Quinta das Lages in the Rio Torto. Two others, privately owned by a member of the Symington family, Quinta da Vila Velha and Quinta do Vale de Malhadas, also supply Graham’s with finest quality grapes. All five Quintas are among the best in the upper Douro valley. Graham’s also buys grapes from selected farmers in the finest districts. Some of these farmers have been selling their to Graham’s for generations.

Graham's Natura
Graham’s Natura is a Reserve Port produced from Symington owned organic vineyards at Quinta das Lages in the Rio Torto Valley & Vineyards in the Vale da Vilarica in Portugal’s Upper Douro Valley.
Situated at 150 and 350 meters above sea level, these vineyards benefit from well aerated and dry conditions, which in turn, allows each vine to develop their own natural defenses. Following organic cultivation guidelines and respecting the vineyard’s natural cycle, each vine finds its own yield level, producing smaller grapes with more concentrated fruits.

Graham’s Old Tawny Ports are made from wines of the very highest quality which, following careful selection, are matured in seasoned oak casks until their peak of maturity is reached. It is essential to strike the correct balance between the delicacy and elegance which results from prolonged cask ageing while retaining the fruit quality which lends these old Tawnys their structure and longevity.

THE FEAST - AUGUST 14 - 17 

From Thursday through Sunday, August 14th to August 17th Little Italy will be celebrating the 114th "Feast of the Assumption."

 

When Little Italy was settled, the community was centered on its beautiful church, Holy Rosary and its patron saint, the Virgin Mother. In the Roman Catholic religion, August 15th was the day Mary ascended into heaven. So for this grotto, the Feast of the Assumption is a very special day. As busy as Mayfield Road is, it is shut down for the four-day celebration in order to accommodate the crowds that come to add to this rich and beautiful tradition.

 

We at Little Italy Wines are very proud to participate in the celebration with our family, friends and great customers.

We will be having wine tastings Thursday through Sunday

On Thursday, we will be tasting Italian wines from 3:00 pm to closing

On Saturday, starting at 3:00 pm - a high end tasting of Italian wines including Amarone, Barbaresco, Brunello and Cabernet

On Sunday, we will start the tasting at 3:00 pm of another great selection of wines from Italy and Spain featuring
Christina Lakatos from Wine Trends.

Tastings on Thursday, Friday and Sunday are $10.00 per person. Saturdays tasting will be high end wines
and will be $25.00 per person ($40.00 per couple).
No reservations just come and enjoy! (Credit cards gladly accepted.)

 

"Taste of Little Italy" Amateur Wine Contest

Sponsored by the Cleveland Chapter of the American Wine Society with support from the Northern Ohio Wine Guild, the home winemakers contest will be judged on Saturday, September 13th. Wines must be submitted no later than Friday, September 5th. For more information to follow.

As a farm kid growing up in the 50s and 60s,
John Giguiere was a confirmed pyromaniac
starting various things on fire such as his father´s wheat field. At one point, fearing total ruin from his kids burning him out of the house and farm, his father took them to the city jail for an hour stay to impress upon his brother and him the futility of their fascination with fire. John and his brother answered at a later date by graduating from random fires to the launching of rockets which often blew up at some stage of the its journey resulting in more random fires and a call to the local fire department for help. They eventually grew out of this fascination with the “Matchbook” but still have fond memories of the power they possessed.
Matchbook wines focus on varietals that perform
well in the warm Dunnigan Hills climate,
just east of Napa County in Yolo County.
